![]() The only problem I have here is that there's no save feature, so it's either you use the debug mode to skip levels or you start at the beginning. Not only do you get a variety of weapons to protect the VIP, you also get some useful psychic powers! You have the ability to increase your thinking speed momentarily (bullet time), or you can use Soul-release to get a view of the situation. Even though there's almost absolutely no variation in the environment whatsoever, Black Shades somehow manages to keep things fresh by mixing up the enemies you fight and the weapons you can use. You're a psychic bodyguard whose goal is to protect the VIP (guy in white) by any means necessary from various kind of assasins and zombies. Some people may be turned off by this, but I like it because it brings me back to a time when games weren't all about graphics. First off, it has the blockiest graphics I've seen since the original Star Fox. This game won't be for everyone, but if it is your thing, then have fun saving lives then getting yourself killed in process!īlack Shades is just about anything but your standard FPS game. Those things aside, this game is generally entertaining. I have always hated this style of control, and I'm sure I'm not the only one. In order to stop him, you need to hit that direction again or hit a different direction. If you press a direction, your character will keep walking. My final gripe with this game is the controls. When it does this, it causes your computer to beep, which I find really annoying and stupid. Usually graphics don't bug me, but the people who made this game made a poor graphics design choice: the bullets are nearly impossible to see! Second of all, whenever you die the game shows you your overall score, including bonuses. First off, the graphics almost make the NES seem like a powerful machine. This game, while fun, is not without its flaws. ![]() In other words, if you die, you need to start from the beginning. Unfortunately, this game only gives you one quarter. To make the game even MORE like an arcade game, they made the game hard as hell! I would consider you either lucky or incredibly skilled if you lived for more than five minutes on average. It's actually fairly obvious that this is what they were going for. The game is done in a style that reminds me of old arcade games, such as Robotron: 2084. again! Wait, you don't shoot guys in WWI Medic? Say what! That's right! In WWI Medic, instead of shooting people, you save them, all while you try to avoid gunfire, grenades, and various other things that you really don't want to get hit with. Oh boy! It's another war game! Looks like I'm going to be shooting random soldier #38219. Oh, and if blood phases you, stay the hell away from this game! It's a well-made game with solid gameplay and excellent writing. If you're a fan of classic games like Prince of Persia, Flashback, or Out of This World/Another World, then 1213 will not disappoint. The story may not seem much at first, but there's plenty of twists and turns. Harassed daily by a mysterious member of the facility, one day his door opens with no one there. The game's story is about an amnesiac lab rat, refered to by the mysterious facility's staff as 1213, who wakes up in his cell remembering nothing. Fortunately, the gameplay isn't what's going to keep you playing. You platform around the facility, shoot up some baddies, and solve puzzles. The gameplay itself is rather simple and the only real challenge are the boss fights. It would help if there was a simple way to have the internal debugger breakpoint on the first instruction in a new program, started from the shell, so I don't have to debug the shell nor keyboard input, before the process starts.1213 is an excellent science-fiction platformer, split into 3 episodes, that plays out a bit like the original Prince of Persia. Dosbox-x does not seem to have a way to start a program in the internal debugger I believe previous posts mentioned using the debug command in the DOS window for this, but that doesn't work in dosbox-x. ![]() One notable problem is if I use the run command, and there are no breakpoints nor anything to make it stop, there's no way to get the prompt back, and I have to restart dosobox-x for it. And I've encountered some issues with it. Still, I want to know - if possible - how to use the dosbox debugger for this. So far I'm browsing the CW code that's part of Open Watcom Emulation-wise, it runs Dune, Dune 2, and not much else right now. I'm part of a team who works on this project, in order to reverse-enginneer real-mode programs (which offers also a GDB server) : ĬauseWay extender MIGHT run with it. ![]() New Zealand consists of two main islands: the North Island and the South Island. Where is Franz Josef Glacier located? You feel so small on the glacier! However, in 1998 the Ngai Tahu Claims Settlement Act officially changed the name of the glacier to the Franz Josef Glacier/Kā Roimata o Hine Hukatere out of respect for its Maori heritage. When a German geologist happened upon the glacier in 1865, he named it after Emperor Franz Joseph I of Austria. Rangi, the Sky Father, felt sorry for the princess and froze her tears to form the glacier in memory of Tuawe. Hine Hukatere cried so hard that her tears flowed down the mountain. ![]() One day, while they were climbing, an avalanche swept Tuawe away and he was killed. Her lover, Tuawe, often accompanied her even though he was not as adept at mountaineering as she was. Like any good glacier, there’s a legend behind the Franz Josef Glacier.Īccording to Maori folklore, a princess called Hine Hukatere loved to climb in the mountains. This makes it one of the steepest glaciers in New Zealand, which is pretty impressive considering that the country is home to 2,900 of them! The Story of the Franz Josef Glacier The glacier descends from the Southern Alps mountain range, all the way down to just 300 meters (984 feet) above sea level. In even simpler terms, it’s a really big hunk of ice that’s constantly moving – pretty cool, huh? In regular terms, this means that it’s characterized by a relatively high rate of flow. The Franz Josef Glacier is 12 kilometers (7.5 miles) long, and it’s a temperate maritime glacier. Matrix multiplication is thus a basic tool of linear algebra, and as such has numerous applications in many areas of mathematics, as well as in applied mathematics, statistics, physics, economics, and engineering. Matrix multiplication was first described by the French mathematician Jacques Philippe Marie Binet in 1812, to represent the composition of linear maps that are represented by matrices. The product of matrices A and B is denoted as AB. The resulting matrix, known as the matrix product, has the number of rows of the first and the number of columns of the second matrix. For matrix multiplication, the number of columns in the first matrix must be equal to the number of rows in the second matrix. In mathematics, particularly in linear algebra, matrix multiplication is a binary operation that produces a matrix from two matrices. The result matrix has the number of rows of the first and the number of columns of the second matrix. Unusual subject lines are attention-grabbing for at least a moment, and interrupting your pattern is entirely their goal. ![]() Or, maybe you ignore the subject lines in your email because you’re looking for specific senders and you just skim the rest. You or someone you know probably throws away colorful junk mail. What We Know About the Benefits of Pattern Interruptsįirst, let’s think about your personal experience. #2 - because it’s fun to break rules and be disruptive. Now that you know pattern interrupts exist, you’ll see them everywhere.īut why should you use them in content marketing? They’re interrupting the pattern of text posts by looking as though they are engaging with you.Īnother example might be when you’re watching or reading a super long piece of content and the text or actor suddenly breaks the fourth wall and asks you a direct question like, “Still here?” It’s all about manipulating people’s attention spans.Īn example from social media is when you’re scrolling on autopilot and you see an influencer waving in a thumbnail to get your attention so that you click. Or that popular birthday card in which Stephanie professes her love for corn on the cob. Like when you were a kid and a teacher snapped their fingers to return your attention to their boring lecture. Just when a prospect is getting bored and zoning out, you hit them with something they’re not expecting. Pattern interrupts are an especially popular device in marketing videos, direct mail, and cold calls. Smart marketers, writers, and salespeople have adopted it to boost conversion rate optimization. Pattern interrupts are a borrowed concept from neuro-linguistic programming (NLP). The fun news is, they’re the sugary cereal part. Pattern interrupts are an excellent bounce preventative.īut they’re only a part of this healthy breakfast. And you certainly don’t want anyone to open up your content and bounce out because they anticipate a long, boring article. It was at this point that I decided to throw in the towel with this drone. Again, I was able to locate the propellors but not the screw. The next time, I was doing a flyover and initiated a turn when again it flipped over to the left, except this time it slammed itself into the ground from about 25 feet up, dislodging the battery as well as the rear left propellor. I replaced it with the spare propellor and screw that was provided and was able to get it up in the air. We were able to recover the propellor but not the screw. After power it up to take off, the drone immediately flipped over to the left and slapped itself into the ground, resulting in the front left propellor being dislodged from the motor. The first time was directly after trying to lift off. The final nail in this drone's coffin for me is the fact that it crashed randomly on its own twice. I suppose it would be fine if you scaled it down to 1080p, but that's not what you expect when you read 4K HD. Paused, the resulting frame looks like a watercolor of a picture rather than a crisp, clear, detailed photo. It looks more like 1080p upscaled to 4K, resulting in a very soft picture. The 4K HD camera produces video which does not live up to the specs. It was maybe 100-150 yds away, which did not impress me much. Return to home worked great when the drone lost WiFi connection to my iPhone. When in motion, stick inputs seem to be okay and sometimes jerky, but overall fine until trying to stop in place. This is in stark contrast to my DJI Mavic Mini, which immediately stops and holds position. I found the response to be a bit soft in that when I would fly in a direction and then release the sticks, it would immediately flare to stop its motion but then would continue to drift in that direction for another several feet. The first couple of times I flew this drone, it seemed to work just fine. In the meantime, this drone is no slouch and you’ll have many hundreds of hours of fun with it. If you get skilled with this one, you’ll be ready to move up to something fancier. But this drone is a great one to practice on since it costs about $1,000 less than a “starter” professional drone. It’s great that this drone comes with 3 complete sets of propellers-you’ll need them if you’re a beginner like me. On the other hand, this drone doesn’t have the image stabilization capabilities of the expensive professional drones, so expect some shakiness in the videos, especially on windy days. ![]() The home function and phone pairing area also handy, especially if you happen to let the drone go a bit further than you intended. This drone has several features that are way in advanced of the toy drones that I have tried, like the GPS mode, which holds the drone pretty steady in fixed positions (unless it’s really windy). As with any drones, there is a steep learning curve for getting the drone to go where you want and return successfully. The photo and video quality of this drone is decent, not quite good enough for publication, but certainly good for personal use or social media. This is my first “real” drone after I tried several toy drones that were utter crap. I am pleased with the performance of this drone so far. The drone can be paired with your phone with the VTI Phoenix app. The control unit has a built in phone holder. Media are saved onto a microSD card (not included). ![]() The control unit has indicators for battery strength, satellite quantity, signal strength, altitude and distance relative to home, and speed.
